About The Position

A.J. Rose Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for its 1st shift team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role maintains and improves progressive and transfer stamping dies used in high-volume metal stamping operations. The position supports production teams, addresses tooling issues, and contributes to continuous improvement and manufacturing quality.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Tool & Die experience in a metal stamping environment.
• Strong experience with progressive and transfer dies.
• Ability to operate manual toolroom equipment, including grinders, mills, lathes, and related machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with close tolerances and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive and transfer stamping dies.
• Diagnose tooling issues and make adjustments to support efficient production.
• Perform bench work, precision fitting, grinding, machining, and assembly of tooling components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on dies, fixtures, and related tooling.
• Respond to tooling-related production downtime and quality concerns.
• Read and interpret blueprints, tool designs, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on tooling improvements and new die launches.
• Evaluate die performance and recommend modifications to improve productivity, quality, and tool life.
• Assist with tryouts and startup of new or modified tooling.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow safety and quality procedures.
