About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Kidney Center of Brunswick Dialysis Center in Brunswick, OH. Dialysis Experience Preferred, Will Train the Right Person! Some details about this position: Operational Hours: M/W/F 4:30am - 3:30pm (may need to float to maintain full-time hours) This clinic has 16 chairs and schedules 3 Dialysis Techs and 1 RN per shift PCTs expected shifts for this clinic: 3 days/week and can be asked to start as early as 3:30 am Hours of work may vary during the training period; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week during training You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday Paid training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands on training. Reimbursement for your Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling. Requirements

  • You are reliable, love to learn, have a desire to help people, are looking for a career with a company you can grow with, are comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet, and love a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes!
  • Our work ends when it’s safe for our patients.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals
  • I have read and understand the duties and expectations of this position

Nice To Haves

  • Dialysis Experience Preferred, Will Train the Right Person!
  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Technician Duties . In the morning, the opening PCT is coming in to get the water room ready and the bicarb for the patients. They are testing the water for chlorine, checking to make sure the tools are calibrated. There are a lot of duties in the morning.
  • To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week.
  • You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
