About The Position

Provides direct patient care including treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse. Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member. Ensures water system disinfection and monitoring. Registers outpatient plasmapheresis and hemodialysis patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year of experience with provision of patient care activities including treatments and/or diagnostic studies.
  • Ability to perform safe direct patient care as directed by the registered nurse.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform disinfection of portable reverse osmosis machines and hemodialysis machines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the scientific principles and the process of water purification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the scientific principles of dialysis and the process of dialysis treatments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the problem-solving process in the identification and resolution of patient care or other problems.
  • Ability to perform registration of outpatients.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers patient care as directed by the RN using a patient/family-centered approach.
  • Performs functions related to disinfection of hemodialysis machines.
  • Performs functions related to the water purification system and portable reverse osmosis machines.
  • Ensures accurate, complete, and timely entry of patient registration and account data in the hospital system.
