About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Kidney Center of Brunswick Dialysis Center in Brunswick, OH. Dialysis Experience Preferred, Will Train the Right Person! This position involves direct patient care, spending the majority of the day in one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time. Technician duties include preparing the water room and bicarb for patients, testing water for chlorine, and calibrating tools. The role also involves monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. You will have exposure to blood and needles. The role also includes educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics and working collaboratively within a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN. DaVita is committed to continuous improvement and building long-term relationships with patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Dialysis Experience Preferred
  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
