About The Position

Concerto Renal Services is seeking a PRN Dialysis Patient Care Technician to provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy for patients in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility setting. The technician is part of the hemodialysis health care team and works under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following Concerto’s policies, procedures, and training, as well as applicable state and federal regulations. This role includes hands-on patient care, dialysis treatment support, monitoring and documentation, machine operation, laboratory specimen preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The position is per diem and offers a flexible schedule with a minimum of two monthly shift picks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR certification or completion upon starting in the unit.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
At least two years of dialysis technician experience.
Dialysis certification required.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments according to prescribed orders.
Obtain and document pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and vascular access assessments, and report unusual findings to the nurse.
Set up, operate, and perform safety checks on hemodialysis machines; administer heparin as permitted by state law.
Accurately document patient treatment details and prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed.
Provide service to patients, families, and staff while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
