About The Position
Patient Care Technicians provide high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), the most advanced stage of chronic kidney disease. They monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments, using technical skills and a commitment to building strong patient relationships and improving quality of life.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desire to care for people and comfort working around blood and needles.
- Previous dialysis experience.
- Experienced PCTs must have current certification from BONENT, NNCC, NNCO, or another applicable state-approved certification.
- Experienced PCTs must have current BLS/CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Measure and record patient statistics.
- Initiate cannulation.
- Observe patients during treatment.
- Set up hemodialysis machines.
