About The Position

EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking a Diagnostic Technician to join its Clinic Team. The position performs data collection functions delegated by physicians to support professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions. The Diagnostic Technician explains office procedures and tests to patients, helps maintain patient flow, performs ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging, and maintains sanitary conditions and replacement inventory in diagnostic and procedure rooms. The schedule is Monday through Friday, full-time, with occasional half Saturdays. Pay is $23.00–$29.00 per hour, determined based on skills, experience, and certifications or education.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of ophthalmic conditions and ancillary testing.
Knowledge of NextGen.
Technical skills to operate various computers and imaging equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to be empathetic with patients’ needs and concerns.
High school diploma or GED.
Three or more years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician and/or technical school training.

Nice To Haves

Some college.
COA or COT certification.

Responsibilities

Explain office procedures to patients, describe the purpose of tests, and explain how patients will be affected.
Advise patients about whom they will see next and maintain a smooth flow of patients to the physician.
Perform visual field testing, OCT scanning, corneal topography, A Scans, B Scans, and ophthalmic imaging, including fluorescein angiography and fundus photography.
Maintain sanitary conditions in diagnostic and procedure rooms.
Ensure par levels of replacement inventory.
