About The Position

The Diagnostic/R&R Technician services a broad range of vehicle repair issues to ensure vehicles perform properly and safely, and quickly identifies the causes of performance problems. The position involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing automotive systems, with a focus on transmission diagnostics and removal and reinstallation. The technician also assists other technicians, explains inspection findings, records information to support accurate repair cost estimates, and continues learning technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a mechanic.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs with general supervision.
• Excellent judgment and discretion, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress.
• Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer-service-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
• Attention to detail while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve routine problems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
• Perform diagnostics on transmissions.
• Remove and reinstall transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspections to service writers and technicians.
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques.
• Professionally record findings so repair costs can be accurately estimated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
