Diagnostic Imaging Assistant - MRI - Per Diem
About The Position
The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant supports the MRI Department at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. This per diem position is scheduled as needed based on departmental needs and may float to an offsite location. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage may be required. Under the general supervision of the Radiology Support Supervisor and Lead Technologists, the assistant provides courteous, professional support to patients, their significant others, technologists, physicians, and other hospital personnel. The role includes explaining procedures to patients, allowing them to ask questions, and helping reduce anxiety and promote trust. The assistant is expected to deliver strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Previous Windows experience.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience in a healthcare setting, especially in direct patient care roles.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Keyboarding skills of 35–40 words per minute.
- Experience with healthcare information systems, including PACS.
