About The Position

We are seeking a skilled DEXA Technologist for a travel contract position in Portland, OR. This role focuses exclusively on performing Bone Density (DEXA) examinations and does not involve X-ray duties. The position is within a Short-Term Acute Care Hospital with 418 staffed beds, utilizing the Epic charting system. You will work independently in a bone density clinic setting with a 1:1 patient ratio.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a DEXA Technologist.
• Current and proficient Bone Density (DEXA) exam experience is a hard-stop requirement.
• Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiography License.
• ARRT (R) certification.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Experience with Epic EMR documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a bone density clinic.

Responsibilities

• Perform Bone Density (DEXA) examinations.
• Conduct Bone mineral density (BMD) testing.
• Position patients correctly for DEXA studies.
• Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
• Acquire and perform quality assurance on images.
• Document patient information using the Epic EMR system.
• Maintain an independent workflow within the bone density clinic.
