About The Position

The Digital Factories team provides platforms for designing digital services around DevOps, environment management, and artificial intelligence. These services include the provision of DevOps pipeline tools, environment management services, and data protection services. Activities cover operational support and project delivery related to platforms, as well as the integration of new users. The DevOps - Production Support will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for defining and designing solutions to automate daily processes, in order to offer more powerful and efficient platforms to users. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and the design of automated optimizations. The role is part of an agile DevOps approach and requires a wide range of technical skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production support or a similar role
  • Proven experience in multidisciplinary technical support within a team
  • Good knowledge of performance and capacity management (applications, databases, networks)
  • Strong aptitude for automation
  • Solid DevOps mindset and ability to work with both development and production teams, with a focus on automation and self-service platforms
  • Excellent communication in French and English. English is required, as the position involves communicating with clients and partners outside Quebec.
  • Production experience with the following tools: Artifactory, Bitbucket, Confluence, Fortify, Jira, Nexus IQ, SonarQube, TeamCity (administration, setting up environments from scratch, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, as well as end-user support and onboarding on the platform)
  • System administration: in-depth and demonstrated practical expertise in Linux/Unix, good knowledge of Windows systems
  • Good understanding of global infrastructures, firewalls, network protocols, certificate management, and related issues
  • Networks: solid understanding of network principles and practical experience with load balancing technologies
  • Monitoring: experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace) and performance profiling
  • Automation: experience with automated testing and deployment cycles, and server automation tools such as Ansible, Ansible Tower, Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Git, as well as integration with security vaults
  • Experience in migrating legacy platforms to new solutions, with a focus on technological evolution
  • Programming and scripting: demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Perl, Shell (Bash)
  • Understanding of user and server authentication mechanisms enabling end-to-end automated deployment cycles, while ensuring a high level of security
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and PaaS solution delivery
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow (incident, request, change, and problem management)

Nice To Haves

  • Operating systems: Linux certification or in-depth expertise in Linux infrastructures (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Containers: exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
  • Scripting: strong proficiency in Ansible, Python a plus
  • Security: knowledge of API integration with CyberArk or Vault
  • Databases: experience or knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL databases
  • Good understanding of the application lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent skills in task management, prioritization, and risk management
  • Good understanding of production processes, including change management, release management, incident management, and problem management
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification

Responsibilities

  • Understand the requirements related to production deployment and collaborate with teams to clearly identify user needs
  • Provide L1/L2 support on the DevOps platform for global users
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of the DevOps platform in production, 24/7
  • Define monitoring and capacity management strategies
  • Work on a set of prioritized tasks, with regular updates, keeping the target solution as a priority
  • Understand phased deliveries to meet defined specifications and deadlines
  • Deploy new versions and patches of the platform
  • Identify efficiency gains in processes and contribute to their automation
  • Rigorously test automated processes to ensure their robustness and compliance with requirements
  • Provide feedback and propose solutions to management regarding performance, capacity, and architecture
  • Document designs and architectures, and disseminate meeting minutes and actions
  • Collaborate with other teams to respond to incidents and quickly resolve problems, often under pressure, to restore services
  • Demonstrate technological curiosity, learn new technologies, and propose useful ideas to the department
