About The Position

The JMP DevOps team creates and maintains infrastructure for JMP product software and internally used development tools. The intern will learn about the software development lifecycle and the infrastructure supporting JMP’s feature, maintenance, and monthly security release cycles. The role involves understanding and documenting existing processes and collaborating with DevOps team members to improve them for future releases. It requires familiarity with scripting and programming languages and tools used to automate tasks and processes.

Requirements

• Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited Computer Science program and not graduating before December 2027.
• Ability to develop novel solutions to technical problems.
• Genuine interest in working with a DevOps infrastructure team.
• Experience with data analysis software; JMP experience is not required.
• Coding and scripting skills in a variety of languages.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be available to start in person at Cary HQ on May 18, 2027; the internship dates are not flexible.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the JMP development process and the infrastructure supporting feature, maintenance, and monthly security release cycles.
• Collect requirements and complete tooling projects in collaboration with DevOps team members.
• Research new technologies and tools.
• Review and improve existing process and infrastructure documentation.
• Back up team members on routine tasks.
• Contribute to other JMP DevOps team projects on an ad-hoc basis.
