About The Position

Consensys Incorporated is an independent blockchain infrastructure company, spun out of Consensys Software Inc. — one of the world's leading blockchain technology companies and the primary development organization behind the Ethereum ecosystem. We build and operate neutral, institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure that connects banks, asset managers, custodians, and financial market infrastructures to digital asset networks, meeting the non-negotiable standards of institutional finance: privacy, scalability, resilience, security, and regulatory readiness. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, and operating across the US, Europe, and Australia, Consensys Incorporated launched as an independent entity in September 2026 and is building the team to match its ambition. Why this role exists: Infrastructure services we previously consumed — observability, incident management, deployment tooling — are being rebuilt from scratch, at the same time as we sign institutional clients who want 99.95% and a named incident process. The team doing that work is small, senior, and currently without a manager. You are that manager. Two jobs: run the team, and build the operational function the team doesn't have yet.

Requirements

  • Managed a DevOps/SRE/platform team of 4+ people.
  • Still technical enough to read a Terraform diff and disagree with it.
  • Experience building an on-call function from scratch or rebuilding a broken one.
  • Production ownership of a system with contractual availability commitments, including experience explaining outages to customers.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, IaC, GitOps, and multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
  • Experience navigating a separation, migration, or carve-out scenario where tooling was externally managed but accountability was internal.
  • Ability to remain direct and calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Blockchain/Ethereum node operations.
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with security tooling and SOC operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small group of senior infrastructure and DevOps engineers across Europe, US, and APAC, including hiring, one-to-ones, growth, and workload management.
  • Build and manage the on-call and incident management function, including severity definitions, escalation, paging, and post-incident reviews.
  • Develop NOC/SOC capability in partnership with Security, determining what is operated internally, purchased, or subcontracted.
  • Oversee the transition off the former parent's infrastructure, ensuring infrastructure-as-code, root access, and tooling ownership are properly handed over, and standing up missing components.
  • Manage client-facing operational commitments, including availability definitions, maintenance windows, RTO/RPO, and DR testing, and provide evidence to support these claims.
  • Manage cloud spend across networks and understand the unit economics behind per-transaction pricing.
  • Support SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits from an infrastructure perspective.
  • Translate management requirements into actionable tasks for the team, leveraging technical and DevOps experience.

  • Competitive compensation
  • Meaningful equity
  • Opportunity to work on open source software in web3
  • Fully remote, globally distributed company
  • Asynchronous work environment

  • Inclusive environment
