About The Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for configuring and updating new applications, upgrading existing infrastructure, and managing code deployments. This role involves administering highly available distributed systems, building out high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and identifying opportunities for automation and optimization within a complex environment.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong experience in RHEL
  • Experience in a Windows and Linux environment with working knowledge of Linux commands
  • Knowledge of application code deployments, environment management support, and release functions
  • Knowledge of DevOps tool sets such as Ansible, XLRelease, Harness, Jenkins, Maven/Ant, JFrog Artifactory, and GitHub
  • Knowledge of Middleware like WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS, JBOSS, and Tomcat
  • Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of application functional issues
  • Willing to work on a flexible shift schedule including weekends and participate in an on-call rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CI/CD SDLC processes
  • Experience with CRM tools like PEGA or APPIAN
  • PowerShell and Unix Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge of issue management request systems like JIRA or Remedy
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Splunk

Responsibilities

  • Configure and update new applications, upgrade existing infrastructure, and/or deploy code for currently utilized applications
  • Administer and engineer highly available distributed systems
  • Build and roll out high availability and disaster recovery for Linux/Windows infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities to optimize current solutions and perform technical analysis to troubleshoot poorly performing systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and other staff to meet project objectives
  • Look for opportunities to automate manual efforts
