About The Position

Upwind is a cloud security platform that uses runtime context to identify and prioritize critical risks and provide cloud security management. Its capabilities include agentless cloud posture discovery, real-time threat protection, and integrated API security. Upwind is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to work with its DevOps team, which partners with engineering units to deliver CI/CD and scalable infrastructure for product features. The team uses open-source solutions and a modern technology stack that includes Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo, Helm, VictoriaMetrics, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Redis, TimescaleDB, and RabbitMQ.

Requirements

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer on a production, high-scale distributed system in a Linux environment.
• Hands-on experience with containerized environments, including Kubernetes and its open-source ecosystem.
• Experience maintaining and scaling database and queueing infrastructure such as Elasticsearch, MySQL, Neo4j, Postgres (Timescale), RabbitMQ, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Extensive experience working in cloud environments on production systems.
• An automation mindset and a drive to automate manual processes.
• In-depth knowledge of build and release systems and CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code in production environments, such as Terraform, Terragrunt, or CDK.
• Hands-on experience with the Helm templating language.
• Scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Innovative approach and ability to learn technologies quickly and implement cutting-edge technologies.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice To Haves

• Deep knowledge of the Prometheus monitoring stack, including Grafana, AlertManager, and VictoriaMetrics.
• Hands-on experience with multiple cloud vendors.

Responsibilities

• Contribute end to end to features involving Upwind's infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and product.
• Participate in product architecture and infrastructure design; evaluate and implement cloud technologies and open-source tools to improve product delivery and availability.
• Plan and drive DevEx and infrastructure scaling efforts.
• Ensure stable and scalable execution of product-feature infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain production infrastructure.
