DevOps Engineer (Multiple Positions Available)
About The Position
SAP America, Inc. is hiring multiple DevOps Engineers at its Palo Alto, California location in a hybrid work model. The role coordinates with external service providers and vendors for Data Center Operations and supports the effective delivery of customer environments in the cloud according to defined Service Level Agreements. The DevOps Engineer drives automation and standardization to support smooth operations and maximize uptime, collaborates with engineering, product management, and other service groups, and improves system landscape support in assigned functional areas. The position also helps assure effective system operations throughout the software lifecycle, shares knowledge between operations and development, maintains high process quality, and contributes to operational models, processes, and procedures. The role involves data center operations tasks including IMAC-D services and processes, goods receipt, capacity management, hardware maintenance, inventory or asset management, access management, data quality and reporting, and ticket handling in ServiceNow. The job requires a qualifying degree and relevant progressive post-baccalaureate experience, including specific data center, SAP S/4, ServiceNow, inventory, and chain-of-custody experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field, plus five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields plus three years of relevant experience.
- Three years of experience with Data Center Electrical Configurations.
- Three years of experience with Data Center Mechanical Configurations.
- Three years of experience with Data Center IMAC-D Processes.
- Three years of experience with SAP S/4 Production Planning.
- Three years of experience handling service requests using ServiceNow.
- Three years of experience with stock inventory using S/4 Material Master.
- Three years of experience with chain-of-custody of data-bearing components.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with external service providers and vendors for Data Center Operations.
- Manage IMAC-D services and processes.
- Handle goods receipt.
- Manage data center capacity.
- Support hardware maintenance activities.
- Work with Data Center Inventory Management or Asset Management.
- Manage data center access or access control.
- Perform data quality and reporting activities.
- Handle tickets using ServiceNow.
- Deliver customer environments in the cloud for respective product lines according to defined Service Level Agreements.
- Drive automation and standardization to support smooth operations and maximize uptime.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other service groups.
- Improve system landscape support in assigned functional areas.
- Assure effective system operations throughout the software lifecycle.
- Provide knowledge management within the team and between operations and development.
- Maintain excellent quality and high standards in processes listed in the relevant process map.
- Contribute to the operations model and operational processes and procedures.
