About The Position

Confido is hiring a hands-on DevOps Engineer to own and improve the infrastructure and tooling that keep its platform fast, secure, reliable, and easy to ship to. The platform processes remittances, deductions, retailer disputes, and trade spend for consumer packaged goods brands, so availability and performance affect customers’ cash operations. The role spans AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, observability, and security. The engineer will help product engineers ship confidently, diagnose issues quickly, and operate production without relying on heroics. Work includes planned platform projects as well as responding to current production needs, in close partnership with product engineers and engineering leadership. The engineer is expected to develop a point of view on platform priorities and execute improvements. The position is based in the Confido office in New York, NY, with relocation support. It includes participation in a shared on-call rotation.

  • Strong AWS experience, including working knowledge of networking, compute, storage, databases, and IAM.
  • Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.

  • Manage infrastructure as code in Terraform so changes are reviewable, repeatable, and safe to roll back.

  • Expand observability across services using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
  • Improve deployment safety through automated checks, progressive rollouts, and clear rollback paths.
  • Partner with product engineers on local development, test environments, and release workflows.
  • Track capacity, reliability, and cloud spending, and make practical improvements as customer volume grows.
  • Help define incident response, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation and improve the on-call experience.
  • Learn the architecture, deployment process, and security controls; ship changes through the existing pipeline; review incidents and address recurring pain points.
  • Take ownership of a platform area such as CI/CD, observability, deployment reliability, or cloud security, and deliver improvements that reduce manual work or make releases faster and safer.
  • Deliver a significant platform improvement with measurable results and develop a prioritized infrastructure roadmap.
