About The Position

CoStar Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support multiple software products and brands across the organization. The role combines development and operations work, with an emphasis on automating infrastructure, applying DevOps principles, and improving operational excellence through infrastructure as code and continuous integration and delivery. The engineer will work with cloud environments and Kubernetes, and support infrastructure foundations across large networks in cloud and on-premises settings. The position is based in Irvine, California, with a schedule of four days onsite and one day working from home. The role also includes helping management with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews, motivating team members, assessing performance, and keeping management informed of team performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in-person, not-for-profit university or college.
A track record of commitment to prior employers.
At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps environment with a developer focus.
Experience with sizing and estimation techniques for small- to medium-sized tasks and projects.
Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar platforms.
Experience using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Understanding of Kubernetes environments and supporting tooling.
Familiarity with infrastructure foundation components of large networks in AWS and on-premises, such as systems and network administration, DNS, hypervisors, containers, databases, and multi-datacenters.
Strong communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as an individual contributor and in both development and operations roles.

Nice To Haves

Experience with enterprise monitoring tools for APM, system vitals, synthetics, and RUM.
Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical applications for improving workflows, observability, and team efficiency.
Programming language or developer background in Java, C#, Python, or NodeJS.
Conceptual understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including evaluating and selecting solutions based on performance, cost, and technical fit.
Experience configuring content delivery networks (CDNs) for performance caching and global traffic management.
Scripting experience with PowerShell or Bash.
Knowledge of serverless architecture methodologies.
Experience in REST API or microservices development.
Experience with Agile methodologies and short sprint cycles.
