Ocotillo Technology Fabrication Yield Device Engineer

Intel•Chandler, AZ
•$89,010 - $146,440•Onsite

About The Position

The Device Integration Engineer drives factory production of transistor and discrete electronic devices that meet defined specifications. The role collaborates with Module, Integration, and Yield engineers to modify processes and deliver material that satisfies quality, reliability, cost, yield, and performance requirements. It controls end-of-line (EOL) quality metrics to screen and disposition material before sort and class testing, and analyzes discrepant device performance to identify root causes. The engineer continuously improves quality, reliability, cost, and yield by working with Integration and Module engineers on targeting, variability reduction, and containment of poorly performing line segments. The role applies solid-state physics, statistics, and formal problem-solving methods to challenging technical problems; identifies and implements improvement opportunities; and communicates technical reasoning, project timelines, and support needs to senior leaders. It also engages product, assembly test, and technology development engineers to identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related STEM field and 2 or more years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
  • Highly motivated, with leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively toward organizational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, inclusionary mindset.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to influence groups at all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience setting goals and achieving them on schedule.
  • Ability to tolerate ambiguity and adjust priorities in a rapidly changing, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems.
  • Ability to effectively lead meetings and communicate progress to senior leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related STEM field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of device physics and semiconductor processing, and familiarity with failure analysis techniques.
  • Basic coding or scripting ability in JSL, SAS, or Python.
  • Experience with data extraction, statistical process control, statistical data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with statistical software such as JMP or Minitab and with design of experiments (DOE) techniques.
  • Familiarity with machine learning tools applied to process and device analysis for root-cause determination.
  • Experience in semiconductor process integration, yield engineering, process development, or technology development.
  • Strong understanding of FEOL and/or BEOL manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience executing projects involving DOE and process improvement for yield improvement, defect reduction, or process capability enhancement in production.
  • Proficiency in DOE, SPC, Cp/Cpk analysis, and root-cause methodologies.
  • Experience supporting technology qualification, manufacturing ramp, and high-volume production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects across multiple engineering disciplines.
