About The Position

Walmart is hiring Developmental Technicians specializing in Refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance to help maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of its stores, equipment, and fixtures. Working under the guidance of the local General Maintenance Manager, technicians follow established schedules and guidelines to perform inspections, cleaning, and repairs. Primary responsibilities are assisted or performed under the direct supervision of an experienced technician.

The position involves maintaining and repairing facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment. Technicians also respond to work orders and emergency maintenance calls, inspect and test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues, and complete required training to operate tools and equipment safely. The stated salary range is $43,680–$58,240, with an additional bonus available and disclosed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Be able to move up and down ladders frequently and be comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Be able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Be able to work in various temperatures.
• Maintain an excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
