About The Position

The Development Manager (Mid-Level and Monthly Giving) is responsible for creating and executing an individual monthly and mid-level giving program. This role focuses on increasing and retaining recurring donors and securing support at the $1,000 - $4,999 levels. The manager will actively manage a portfolio of current and potential donors within this range, as well as monthly donors and passive major gift donors. Key responsibilities include managing relationships, soliciting gifts, documenting interactions in the donor database, and creating monthly dashboard reports. The position involves identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individuals for general operating support, monitoring portfolio performance, preparing proposals and solicitation letters, and collaborating with communications and development teams for donor stewardship. The manager will also assist with budget development, goal setting, and performance measurement for the monthly and mid-level giving programs. Participation in TFB events and special projects, as well as representing the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public, are also expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Self-starter and internally motivated.
  • Three to five years of fundraising and development experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer literacy; ability to quickly learn software and database programs.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Able to work with a variety of people.
  • Able to work well independently, strategically, and able to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Sensitive to the needs of low-income people.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an individual monthly and mid-level giving program.
  • Increase and retain recurring donors and secure support at the $1,000 - $4,999 levels.
  • Actively manage a portfolio of current and potential donors ($1,000 - $4,999), monthly donors, and passive major gift donors.
  • Manage relationships and solicit gifts from mid-level donors.
  • Document interactions in TFB’s donor database.
  • Create monthly dashboard reports of mid-level and monthly giving in collaboration with the Donor Relations Manager.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individuals for general operating support.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to achieve annual goals.
  • Prepare proposals, solicitation letters, and stewardship reports in conjunction with the Development team.
  • Thank and steward individual donors in collaboration with the Communication and Development teams.
  • Assist the team with developing budgets, goals, and performance measures for building the monthly and mid-level gifts programs and analyzing results.
  • Participate in TFB events and special projects.
  • Represent the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public through visits, written and phone communications.
