About The Position

The development coordinator manages key annual fund activities and fundraising events and maintains the donor database to support accurate recordkeeping, reporting, and effective fundraising. The coordinator also supports donor cultivation and other activities that increase community awareness and build resources for South Puget Sound Habitat. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who is mission-focused and comfortable with databases, spreadsheets, and juggling multiple tasks including database work, fundraising, and event logistics. The ideal candidate is proactive, a team player, communicates clearly, builds genuine relationships, and is willing to ask for support for a cause they believe in. Curiosity, dependability, and a willingness to delve into details and solve problems are essential.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience using donor databases or CRM systems for recordkeeping, reporting, and fundraising support
Minimum of three years of fundraising, sales, or administrative management experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, timely, and consistent donor and fundraising records
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet both scheduled and unexpected deadlines
Excellent writing, proofreading, and formatting skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, community partners, vendors, and colleagues, and to work collaboratively with a variety of people
Proficient with basic math; ability to accurately interpret data and formulas
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ability to learn, use, and train others on new technology and systems
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Ability to pass a background and reference check

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles
Experience fundraising in a nonprofit or corporate setting
Experience with donor stewardship, annual giving, or fundraising communications
Familiarity with CRM transitions, build outs, and workflow development
Ability to translate data and information into clear, engaging, and visually appealing reports and presentations
Understanding of, or experience with, project management principles and tools

Responsibilities

Coordinate annual fund activities, including mailings, events, donor lists, and other requests for support.
Build relationships with donors and cultivate support through timely acknowledgements, stewardship activities, and prospect research.
Provide project and timeline management for assigned fundraising, stewardship, and community events.
Coordinate event logistics, agendas, attendance tracking, vendors, materials, hospitality, supplies, and other operational needs.
Support the planning and execution of key events, including Women Build, Habitat Gala, Pride Build, Veterans Build, and other events.
Coordinate logistics for outreach efforts, external meetings, and presentations.
Manage in-kind donation inquiries and related gift coordination.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM, including donor contact information, interactions, and other relevant activity.
Process and acknowledge donor gifts promptly and ensure gifts are recorded accurately in the CRM.
Run reports and prepare year-end tax reporting documents.
Assist with regular fundraising reporting and ensure accurate information sharing across departments.
Support donor lists, segmentation, reporting, and other data needs for appeals, events, stewardship, and communications.
Provide administrative support for the senior director of advancement and individual giving manager.
Manage the advancement team meeting and schedules, including notetaking.
Report to the team on fundraising metrics, challenges, and successes.
Create and sustain strong working partnerships with other members of the team and contribute to the culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Maintain a “team first” outlook, supporting the success of the team and the mission in attitude, ideas, and actions; lead by example and with active, creative input for growing and improving the organization.
Meet and endorse organization standards for record keeping and information sharing.
Contribute to organization events, helping as necessary with set up/take down, management, networking, various tasks, etc.
Participate in intentional learning efforts, including events relating to understanding institutional racism and building cultural competency.
