About The Position

The Development AP Specialist is a critical role within the project development workflow, requiring experience with accounting software, particularly Real Page Accounting and Real Page Job Cost. Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience
  • HS diploma required
  • Experience with accounting software and all platforms with a focus on Real Page.
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Analytical mindset
  • A proactive and innovative approach to the work, demonstrates resourcefulness, independent thinking and self- motivation.
  • Adopt and integrate technology into the development workflow to improve accuracy and efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the development team
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable
  • Data entry & Coding
  • Maintain vendor records and reconcile vendor inquiries
  • Review past due balances and remedy discrepancies where necessary
  • Assist and work closely with Project Accountant on projects, is involved in heavier and more complex payment transactions and will assist in streamlining and improving accounts payable processes
  • Precision Job Costing: Manage the full AP cycle with a heavy focus on allocating expenses to specific projects, phases, and cost codes.
  • Communicating/Identifying development budget line overages to the Development Team.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate current AP workflows and implement improvements to reduce bottlenecks and increase department efficiency.
  • Tech Integration: Lead the adoption of AP automation tools (e.g., OCR, digital approvals, AI) and ensure seamless data flow into our ERP system.
  • Vendor & Project Liaison: Collaborate with project managers to resolve coding discrepancies and maintain strong relationships with vendors through timely, accurate payments.
  • Audit & Reporting: Conduct regular reconciliations and provide project-specific financial insights to help leadership monitor budget-to-actual performance.
