About The Position

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Newport Beach, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features in a development team. The role involves analyzing and solving issues in existing and new code, providing application implementation services within project specifications, and performing design activities including requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include testing and integration, while maintenance involves error analysis and removal. The Developer will extend, modify, or adapt existing designs and may also be involved in the development of new sub-systems.

Requirements

Object oriented software development using Java in combination with spring framework and Gradle or Maven
Relational SQL databases including Postgres and HANA
NoSQL databases including Elasticsearch
Design data models as well as cross service and system interfaces utilizing async and sync communication protocols including CRUD interface via REST API, messaging using Apache Kafka, or Protobuf
Deploy applications using Docker containers, Kubernetes, and Helm
Design and implement horizontally scalable microservices
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Employer will accept a 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field of study.
