About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking a Developer-Information Services II to join its IIS team. Candidates must live and work in Central Indiana. This is a full-time, hybrid role. The position develops and maintains Microsoft-based applications, independently performing coding, testing, and debugging across front-end and back-end components. It builds and supports solutions using .NET technologies and Azure services, resolves technical issues, contributes to system enhancements, improves development processes, and ensures applications meet performance, security, and scalability expectations. The primary focus is database infrastructure reliability and optimization, including profiling slow queries, fine-tuning indexes, managing connection pools and caching tools such as Redis, assisting with backups and replication, and overseeing zero-downtime schema migrations. The secondary focus is building and maintaining APIs, backend services, and asynchronous queue workers using modern PHP (8.x) and frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony, with clean data-layer abstractions and attention to ORM performance issues such as N+1 queries. The organization describes its mission as improving health outcomes and advancing healthcare through quality, innovation, and education. IU Health emphasizes excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose, and provides team members opportunities for learning and development, including advanced training, leadership development, promotion opportunities, and cross-training.
