About The Position

Teph Seal Auto Appearance is hiring a piecework Detailer for a detail shop in Mount Dora, Florida. The role involves maintaining store facilities and delivering high-quality vehicle detailing and customer service. Detailers drive, clean, and detail vehicles, responding to customer needs with courtesy and urgency. The posting describes Detail Specialist 1 as requiring some experience and Detail Specialist 2 as requiring two or more years of experience. The work includes washing vehicle exteriors, waxing and buffing, vacuuming interiors, cleaning upholstery and surfaces, drying vehicles, applying protective chemicals, and potentially using dyes, paints, and waxes on vehicle materials. Detailers may also clean grease from engines or engine compartments and perform additional duties assigned by management. This physically demanding work may take place outdoors in varying weather and involves frequent movement, handling numerous vehicles, and careful inspection of work. Compensation is piecework.

Requirements

At least one year of detailing experience.
A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
Ability to learn quickly, work as part of a team, and read and comprehend instructions.
Willingness to arrive on time and remain on task during the shift.
Ability to work Saturdays or Sundays and holidays when necessary to meet production needs.
Ability to perform physically demanding work involving frequent bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting in and out of vehicles.
Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish small imperfections in detailing work and maintain clarity of vision and hearing.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Successful completion of drug and background screening is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Maintain store facilities to support high-quality service.
Drive, detail, and clean vehicles.
Wash vehicle exteriors using cleaning solutions.
Wax and buff vehicles using cloths and buffing machines as needed.
Vacuum vehicle interiors and clean upholstery and surfaces.
Dry surfaces using air compressors and cloths, and apply preservation chemicals to protect against spots and stains.
Use dyes, paints, and waxes to protect vehicle leather or fabric when required.
Clean grease from engines or engine compartments when required.
Carry out additional duties assigned by management in response to operational needs.
Inspect the quality of their own work and the work of other team members.
Treat customers' vehicles with care and respect, and work with urgency to value customers' time.
Follow uniform and grooming standards.
