About The Position
As a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II at CarMax, you will help deliver customer-ready vehicles by performing cosmetic inspections, final quality checks, and advanced reconditioning tasks, including paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing. The role follows established processes and quality standards to ensure vehicles meet CarMax expectations for appearance and condition. You will also help prepare vehicles for auction and move vehicles on and off the lot. Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather, and includes manual tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Complete all CarMax training programs, including online and hands-on modules.
- Read, interpret, and accurately record data for inventory and quality control.
- Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Work indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.
Responsibilities
- Execute standardized cosmetic reconditioning processes at an established pace while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Perform advanced cosmetic repairs, including paint touch-up, wet sanding, and buffing.
- Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections to ensure vehicles meet customer-ready standards.
- Identify defects and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Support auction preparation and assist with vehicle movement on and off the lot.
- Provide customer service and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
Benefits
- Paid sick time: eligible associates can earn up to 48 hours per year, accrued each pay period.
- Paid vacation: eligible associates receive between 80 and 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
