Desktop Support Technician - Tier 1

About The Position

This role is ideal for candidates looking to start or grow their career in IT support. The technician will provide frontline technical assistance to end users, handle basic troubleshooting, and support desktop/laptop deployments. This person will be providing Tier 1 help desk support for end users (in-person, phone, or ticketing system).

Requirements

  • Experience with or exposure to: Computer imaging/deployment tools (such as SCCM, MDT, or similar)
  • Experience with or exposure to: Active Directory (password resets, account unlocks, user management)
  • Experience with or exposure to: Ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, etc.)
  • Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in York, PA
  • Ability to work in a regulated or security-sensitive environment is important

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, coursework, or 0–2 years of IT support experience
  • CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification (or in progress)
  • Experience supporting users in a corporate or government environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform password resets and basic user account management (Active Directory preferred)
  • Execute and manage support queues (ticket triage, prioritization, escalation)
  • Assist with desktop and laptop imaging (building, configuring, deploying systems)
  • Troubleshoot common issues related to: Windows OS, Hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals), Basic networking/connectivity
  • Document issues, resolutions, and processes in the ticketing system
  • Escalate more complex issues to Tier 2/3 support teams as needed
  • Maintain strong customer service and communication with non-technical users
  • Support hardware setup, moves, adds, and changes (MAC work)
