Design Verification Engineer | BGP

Texas Instruments•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Texas Instruments is seeking a Design Verification Engineer to verify the accuracy of analog and mixed-signal designs for electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, and hardware systems before pattern generation or mask development. The engineer works independently from the product development team responsible for designing the devices, confirming adherence to established design rules, procedures, and best practices. The role includes analyzing equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to confirm devices meet specification requirements. It may also involve running software simulations and selecting components and equipment based on specification and reliability analyses. The engineer works across the full verification cycle, including developing detailed verification plans and test benches, running coverage regressions, tracking closure, and contributing to continuous improvements in design verification methodology. The role collaborates closely with digital design, analog design, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in design verification or a related role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with functional verification methodologies, including simulation, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development.
  • Familiarity with RTL simulation tools such as Cadence Xcelium, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with gate-level simulation and timing-aware verification flows.
  • Scripting skills for regression automation and verification flow development using Python, Tcl, or Perl.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and processes.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive results.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Strong time-management skills that support on-time project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of analog and mixed-signal designs before pattern generation or mask development.
  • Independently confirm designs adhere to established design rules, procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data.
  • Conduct experimental tests and evaluate results to confirm devices meet specification requirements.
  • Run software simulations and select components and equipment based on specification and reliability analyses.
  • Develop detailed verification plans and build test benches.
  • Run coverage regressions and track verification closure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in design verification methodology.
  • Collaborate with digital design, analog design, and systems engineering teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay and benefits designed to support employees and their families; details vary by country.
