Design Verification Engineer | BGP

Texas Instruments•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Texas Instruments is seeking a Design Verification Engineer to confirm the accuracy of analog and mixed-signal designs for electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, electronic equipment, and other hardware systems before pattern generation or mask development. The engineer works independently from the product development team that designed the devices to verify adherence to known design rules, procedures, and best practices. The role includes analyzing equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests, and evaluating results to confirm devices meet specification requirements. The engineer may also run software simulations and select components and equipment based on specification and reliability analyses. The position spans the full verification cycle, from developing detailed verification plans and building test benches to running coverage regressions, tracking closure, and contributing to continuous improvements in design-verification methodology. The engineer collaborates closely with digital design, analog design, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in design verification or a related role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with functional verification methodologies, including simulation, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development.
  • Familiarity with RTL simulation tools such as Cadence Xcelium, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent.
  • Experience with gate-level simulation and timing-aware verification flows.
  • Scripting skills for regression automation and verification flow development using Python, Tcl, or Perl.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new systems and processes.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive results.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Strong time-management skills that enable on-time project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Independently verify analog and mixed-signal designs against known design rules, procedures, and best practices.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data.
  • Conduct experimental tests and evaluate results to confirm devices meet specification requirements.
  • Run software simulations and select components and equipment based on specification and reliability analyses, as needed.
  • Develop detailed verification plans and build test benches.
  • Run coverage regressions and track verification closure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in design-verification methodology.
  • Collaborate with digital design, analog design, and systems engineering teams.
