About The Position

Projects range in scope from simple site inspections to the design of new facilities, covering feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed design, and construction administration. The company is looking for a full-time Design Engineer to join its growing Dallas team. This position will design structural systems for a variety of construction types and industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, industrial, and parking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 1-3 years of related experience or Master’s in Civil Engineering
  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities presented.
  • Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Project Manager/Engineer of Record in the development of project design, calculations, and developing assessment reports
  • Performs analysis of existing structures
  • Develop drawings or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations
  • Assists in project coordination and meetings with the internal and external team members
  • Reviews project submittals and shop drawings
  • Visits projects during construction to learn construction practices and to provide on-site construction observation
  • Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem solving
  • Interacts with higher level engineers and design technicians.
  • Attends client, architect, and contractor meetings
  • Learns to engage with potential clients to expand business relationships
  • Performs calculations per design specifications and industry standards
  • Utilizes Structural Design Software, such as RAM Structural Systems, ETBAS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements, and TEKLA
  • Shares information across all disciplines to confirm deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established quality standards
