About The Position

Carpenter & Paterson is hiring a full-time Design & Drafting Technician to work out of one of its offices in Donora, Pennsylvania. The role creates CAD shop drawings, including Bills of Material, for fabrication orders. The Engineering Drafter performs engineering work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading CAD models; works with piping systems and drawings to design and analyze pipe supports; and provides engineering information in response to questions and requests. The position also supports compliance with government regulations, completes projects by training and guiding technicians, contributes to team efforts, and performs other duties as assigned.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Carpenter & Paterson manufactures and distributes pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications. The company has operated since 1913 and has five U.S. locations.

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD software.
• Mathematics skills, including algebra and geometry.
• Detail-oriented and able to visualize parts in 3D.
• Experience with 2D drawings.
• Strong analytical, design, and concept skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and control workflow in a team environment.
• Ability to work accurately to deadlines and set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD shop drawings with Bills of Material for fabrication orders.
• Configure, deploy, maintain, and upgrade CAD models.
• Work with piping systems and drawings to design and analyze pipe supports.
• Answer questions and requests by providing engineering information.
