About The Position

PG&E is seeking an experienced IT Technical Lead for its Distribution Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) platform. The role supports complex electric distribution applications within a large, matrixed organization. Initially, the position focuses on DERMS operations and support; as operational activities mature and the employee builds knowledge of DERMS solutions and use cases, the role will transition toward developing new use cases. The position leads both IT development and operations activities. Development work includes collaborating with business teams to identify use cases and functionality, evaluating alternatives and architectural solutions, translating user stories into technical tasks, participating in RFP evaluations and contract definitions, and directing vendors and developers in implementing agreed solutions. Operations work includes maturing the DERMS support model, maintaining system health and availability, monitoring performance and KPIs/SLAs, designing and deploying systems and enhancements, coordinating with vendors and contractors, improving existing systems, and overseeing schedule execution for Grid DERMS Flex Connect site commissioning. This is a hybrid role, working from a remote office and the Oakland, California office approximately three days per week, or more depending on business needs or company requirements. The listed Bay Area salary range is $140,000 to $238,000, with the expected range between the minimum and midpoint ($140,000 to $189,000). Actual compensation depends on factors including skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, and location. The position is also eligible for PG&E discretionary incentive compensation programs.
