About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable Deputy Program Manager to support the Program Manager in the planning, execution, and oversight of a complex Department of War program. The Deputy Program Manager will assist in coordinating program activities, managing technical and administrative tasks, and ensuring that program objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work seamlessly in a dynamic environment with diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years of Program Manager or Deputy Program Manager experience supporting contracts of similar size and complexity.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with DoW personnel, military/civilian stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Strong understanding of the Government PPBE (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution) process.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel).
  • Ability to work 5 days onsite in Washington DC
  • Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance with SAP Eligibility to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship)

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining an adequate and accurate cost accounting system.
  • Establishing and maintaining procedures for effective data management.
  • Managing hardware and software configurations across the program.
  • Establishing and controlling the program product baseline.
  • Establishing and maintaining a Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) program.
  • Managing vendors and subcontractors supporting program efforts.
  • Leading and coordinating technical management teams operating at the client site.
  • Advising on work distribution across positions and organizations.
  • Recommending appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of operations in meeting established goals.
  • Conducting cost‑benefit analyses and economic evaluations for current or projected programs.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation to improve efficiency.
  • Evaluating organizational methods, support procedures, and business processes.
  • Researching new or improved business and management practices.
  • Obtaining, compiling, and summarizing information for use by senior leadership and stakeholders.
