The Deputy Director of Finance – Revenue Administration position is designed as a progressive career path within the local government Finance Department, responsible for supporting and overseeing the administration of Property Tax and Occupational Tax functions. This position is structured to allow the incumbent to assume increasingly complex duties, decision-making authority, and leadership responsibilities such as training, experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise increases. The role is immediately responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations of the Property Tax and Occupational Tax divisions within the Finance Department. This position ensures accurate assessment, billing, collection, reporting, and compliance of all property tax and occupational tax revenues in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and policies. The position provides strategic leadership for revenue administration functions, provides guidance to division managers, leads in the developing standard operating procedures for the Business License and Property Tax divisions, and collaborates with internal departments and businesses, to ensure efficient and effective tax administration. The position provides an opportunity for expansion of revenue oversight to include Utility analysis and budgetary components. Progression through levels is based on demonstrated competencies, successful completion of training, increased technical knowledge, and the operational needs of the department.
