About The Position

The Deputy Director, Technology (DD-Tech) is in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner/Director, Technology Transformation Services (TTS), whose mission is to design and deliver a digital government with and for the American public. TTS works with government partners to modernize service delivery and uses technology to help agencies provide more accessible, efficient, and effective services, while also helping them save time and money through shared services, modern application platforms, processes, and software solutions. The DD-Tech leads TTS’s digital technology products, programs, and architecture, setting strategic direction, key performance indicators, and an execution roadmap. The role guides the use and development of TTS-wide technical standards, cross-leverages government capabilities, and promotes cost-efficient solutions in the interest of taxpayers. As the organization’s technical leader, the DD-Tech aligns and modernizes current and future government-wide shared products to securely improve the public’s ability to receive services, access government resources and information, and do business with the government. The DD-Tech leads the management and improvement of TTS technical practices, security, and management controls, and develops integrated solutions involving technology, processes, and/or policy. The position also provides technical advice on policies, plans, and practices that may affect digital technology solutions government-wide. It engages with senior and executive stakeholders, including Congressional committees, the Office of Management and Budget, other federal agencies, and industry leaders, to represent TTS, build strategic partnerships, and negotiate complex interagency issues.
