The Deputy Director of Elections performs highly responsible administrative and technical work in managing voter registration, maintaining complete and accurate voter database records, coordinating candidate filing processes, and supporting all aspects of election operations for the Anson County Board of Elections. This role requires extensive administrative skills, strong organizational ability, and high-level computer proficiency. Duties include entering and updating voter registration data, issuing absentee ballots, assisting candidates, training precinct officials, and preparing for and conducting all primary, general, and special elections. The position requires independent judgment, professionalism, tact, and the ability to work effectively with the public. The Deputy Director must perform accurately under strict deadlines, particularly during election periods. All work is performed in accordance with North Carolina election laws and policies set by the Anson County Board of Elections. Performance is evaluated based on efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of election operations. Additionally, the Deputy Director must be prepared to assume full responsibility for office operations and decision making whenever the Director is unavailable. This position reports directly to the Director of Elections.
