About The Position

Georgia Military College Main Campus announces an opening for a Deputy Commandant: Recruiting (DC). The Deputy Commandant: Recruiting works for and reports to the Commandant of Cadets and serves as a senior leader within the Corps of Cadets leadership construct with primary responsibilities for the development and execution of all recruiting, outreach, and enrollment management efforts for Junior College cadet programs at GMC. Leads GMC’s efforts to educate, attract, recruit, retain and support Cadets of all programs, to include the Early Commissioning Program, Service Academy Scholars, State Service, and Civic Leader pathways. Also serves as the primary liaison for external recruitment engagement activities and works to effectively promote the unique qualities and overall value of GMC’s Corps of Cadets. Collaborates closely with the Deputy Commandant of Cadets for Operations and other campus leaders to ensure alignment between recruiting efforts and cadet program execution. Additional responsibilities include oversight of marketing platforms, enrollment strategy, cadet eligibility coordination, and data-driven decision-making to support Corps growth and success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or three to eight years of relevant experience in recruiting, enrollment management, or operational leadership.
  • Ability to wear military uniform or Service equivalent daily.
  • In-Person, telephonic and Virtual customer engagement experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree; eight or more years of relevant experience in recruiting, enrollment management, or operational leadership.
  • Data analysis expertise, strategic advising in higher education or military recruitment.
  • College-level recruiting, admissions, or enrollment management.
  • Battalion (or higher) level military leadership experience.
  • Experience with Army ROTC Cadet Command, Service Academies, or National Guard programs.
  • Prior military experience
  • Spread sheet generation, CRM, data management and analysis expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute comprehensive recruiting and enrollment strategies to meet Corps of Cadets accession and retention goals across all cadet programs, including oversight of recruiting staff and pipeline development.
  • Direct external engagement and outreach efforts to include prospective cadets, families, high schools, military partners, and community stakeholders to promote GMC’s cadet programs.
  • Oversee Corps marketing, communications, and brand presence including website and social media, ensuring alignment with institutional messaging and effective storytelling.
  • Manage cadet enrollment processes and administrative eligibility coordination to ensure all cadets meet institutional requirements for admission and continued participation.
  • Analyze recruiting and cadet performance data to identify trends, improve recruiting outcomes, and inform strategic decisions related to Corps growth and success.
  • Support cadet programs, discipline, and scholarship initiatives including fundraising, endowed scholarships, and cadet sponsorship efforts.
  • Coordinate with Deputy Commandant – Operations to align recruiting efforts with operational capacity and cadet experience.
  • Represent the Corps through briefings and participation in institutional and cadet activities, including physical fitness and weekend events as required.
