About The Position

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to lead Central Operations in the role of Deputy Administrator. The ideal candidate will have an innate ability to review and analyze federal and state statutes and regulations impacting the functions of the agency’s child support program in addition to planning, directing, and evaluating a system for the delivery of services. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience enforcing state and federal child support statutes and regulations for a public or business organization

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing statistical analysis to evaluate child support program performance
  • Three (3) years professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, conducting performance evaluations, training staff and approving time off
  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing, monitoring, and evaluating operating policies and procedures preferably for a child support program
  • Three (3) years of experience reviewing, evaluating, and assisting in the development, coordination and analysis of training created for division staff
  • Three (3) years of professional experience reviewing and analyzing federal and state child support regulations
  • Three (3) years of professional experience directing and evaluating the planning and implementation of enhancements and revisions to program policy and procedures
  • Three (3) years of experience ensuring organizational compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Deputy Administrator for Central Operations for the Division of Child Support Services (CSS)
  • Serves as full line supervisor
  • Plans, directs, and evaluates the administrative aspects of subordinate organizations within the division
  • Initiates, establishes, and implements department policy and formulates priorities and procedures for assigned areas in the Division of Child Support Services (CSS)
  • Consults with high level administrators and managers within the department to resolve sensitive issues and to improve links to agency staff, the public, and/or governmental offices
  • Conducts administrative staff meetings
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
