About The Position

SOSi is seeking a forward-leaning Deputy Operations Manager to lead mission-critical IT operations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role supports USINDOPACOM and over 5,000 users across the Pacific theater, focusing on solving complex technical challenges for real-time, mission-critical Command & Control (C2) operations. Requirements

  • An Active in-scope SECRET clearance.
  • 10+ years of experience in systems/network administration and enterprise IT service center operations.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-I compliant (A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern IT solutions and capabilities.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
  • Prior supervisory experience, attention to detail, and able to communicate effectively, verbally & in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • Relevant IT Certification (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, ITIL, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware)
  • Well-versed in Department of War (DoW) protocols, procedures and regulations.
  • Previous experience (installations, troubleshooting, support) with virtual infrastructure solutions (e.g., VMware/Citrix VDI.)
  • Prior experience with JIRA, SolarWinds, Forcepoint, Juniper and/or Palo Alto technologies a plus.
  • Awareness of C2 applications.
  • Awareness or experience with ITIL framework and ITIL best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Operations Deputy and act as Operations Person-In-Charge when required.
  • Assist with planning and oversight of Operations activities within the AOR.
  • Support the Operations Branch Chief in communications with adjacent branches to achieve service delivery and capability goals.
  • Lead and direct engineers, administrators, analysts, and technicians to ensure IT systems, network devices, applications, and protocols are operational and secure.
  • Coordinate, identify, and prioritize operations projects/assignments.
  • Organize internal and external resources for initiatives.
  • Communicate and manage operations workflow and duties through meetings, briefings, and other methods.
  • Validate operational status of capabilities and services; communicate status and changes to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure incidents are captured, tracked, escalated, and resolved; manage incident communication and response.
  • Participate in analysis and solution development, especially for implementation, operations, and maintenance.
  • Evaluate new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices to improve monitoring and remediation capabilities.
  • Assist with supervisory and administrative oversight of direct reports, including recruiting, onboarding, direction, guidance, and training.
  • Evaluate and improve work processes; propose and implement approved recommendations.
  • Collect and summarize accomplishments, issues, and concerns.
  • Validate Operations RFIs and resource impacts; oversee change and configuration management.
  • Provide structure, oversight, and direction for special projects.
  • Oversee compliance with custody and ownership of government equipment and components.
