About The Position

This role is responsible for testing, aligning, and repairing electronic assemblies efficiently and in a timely manner to meet company requirements. The technician will also diagnose more complex electrical and mechanical problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word Processing, and other office programs.
  • Knowledge of EF Johnson system configuration, including LTR, Multi-Net, etc.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Technician or equivalent in troubleshooting electronic equipment.
  • Computer experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Tests and/or aligns system infrastructure and electronic subscriber units/assemblies/accessories to meet shop requirements.
  • Diagnoses complex problems referred from customers/dealers and performs necessary repairs.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical testing of electronic assemblies using equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, counters, and associated equipment.
  • Trains other team members on specific radio or infrastructure products.
  • Tests, analyzes, and repairs 75% of the product line efficiently.
  • Performs daily checks of equipment to ensure proper working order and calibration.
  • Sets up and performs standard adjustments of test equipment and performs minor maintenance.
  • Logs daily activity using the Glovia system, detailing problems found, repairs made, and time spent.
  • Observes established safe working and housekeeping procedures, and corrects or notifies supervisor of hazardous situations.
  • Demonstrates a cooperative attitude and works effectively with others.
  • Exhibits dependability and complies with attendance requirements.
  • Communicates professionally with customers to establish the basis for repair and answers customer questions.
  • Communicates suggestions for improvements of products/processes.
  • Exhibits desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity.
  • Writes and maintains documentation on troubleshooting processes.
  • Provides design team and/or engineering with repeated problems/issues and suggestions for corrective action.
  • Performs special projects as directed by the department manager.
  • Interfaces daily with staff members, departmental and non-departmental co-workers and managers, including Manufacturing, Customer Service, Shipping and Design Engineering.
  • Communicates with suppliers, contractors and other vendors, as required.
  • Agrees to abide by the established Approval Matrix.
