About The Position

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an individual to work in public service as a Department Analyst in the Office of Insurance Licensing, Investigations, and Audits. This position is an opportunity to build a lifelong career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan’s insurance and financial services industries. This position serves as an analyst responsible for ensuring compliance with the Michigan Pre-Licensing (PE) and Continuing Education (CE) Program within the Insurance Licensing Section. The role includes overseeing the activities of Education Providers (PE and CE) and guiding the education-related functions of the third-party vendor contracted to develop and administer licensure examinations. The third-party vendor reviews and approves education provider, instructor, and course applications and conducts education program audits based on Department guidelines, while this position provides training, oversight, and direction to ensure effective and compliant program administration. The analyst ensures that provider and course approval requirements are met, verifies the completion of annual education audits, and manages the annual renewal process for CE providers and the biannual renewal of CE courses. The position also monitors the DIFS Education Roster Entry System (DERES), which education providers use to submit course completion data, and ensures that all Licensing web pages related to the education program remain accurate and up to date. In addition, the analyst reviews and approves PE and CE waiver requests and processes Education Instructor applications.
