About The Position

This position performs professional analytical work to support departmental and CSB operational needs. Responsibilities include research, data analysis, program evaluation, policy interpretation, and development of recommendations that improve operational efficiency and service delivery. The role integrates analyst-level functions with CSB-specific responsibilities in communications, purchasing, IT/equipment management, onboarding, inventory control, workspace coordination, and bureau support. This includes certain administrative duties within the Bureau, including assisting with the budget development and monitoring, procurement and deployment of equipment required of CSB staff, management of IT assets, administration and management of Workspaces and dashboards and assisting with and in general oversight of all daily tasks that are required to support the administrative needs of the Collection Services Bureau. This position serves as the Collection Services Bureau’s primary resource for employee engagement and bureau-wide communication. It supports and facilitates activities across the Bureau’s engagement teams and initiatives and coordinates all bureau-wide communications. The position also serves as a liaison for internal administrative dashboards and workspaces. The Collection Services Bureau includes over 185 employees and 85 contractors across three Divisions with complex operational areas. This position is the primary resource for all logistical requirements within the Bureau. It determines methods to accomplish assigned projects, influencing Divisions through project implementation needs and outcomes of decisions made. Responsibilities include prioritizing work to meet Bureau needs and deadlines and evaluating and recommending materials and supplies for acquisition. The position performs a variety of duties to assist and advise both the State Administrative Manager and the Director of the Collection Services Bureau.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • For Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of professional experience is required.
  • For Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • For Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • For Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee) 9 (FOR CLASSIFIED STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY): Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • For Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee) 9 (FOR CLASSIFIED STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY): Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • OR Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • OR Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.
  • OR Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • OR One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.
  • College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Provide DD214 or other official military documentation for applicants with military service.

  • Official college transcripts must contain the college/university name and address, the degree conferred and date granted, coursework completed (especially if no degree granted), the Registrar's signature and/or seal, and must be recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Foreign transcripts must have academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by CHEA.
  • Work must be performed in the state of Michigan.
  • Selected candidate must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions while performing the duties of this position, as well as secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
