Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years office experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professionalism in appearance, performance, and language
  • Strong organizational skills, communication, and computer skills
  • Reliable and able to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and handle difficult situations with sensitivity and fairness
  • Excellent attention to detail, with proven ability to work independently and make decisions in a changing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of office experience
  • Experience as a supervisor or leading a team
  • Familiarity with higher education

Responsibilities

  • Manage the department office, including scheduling, inventory, keys/access, space, equipment, and other needs as identified by department leadership
  • Mentor a small team of student office staff to maintain the office and provide administrative support to department faculty and staff
  • Serve as communication hub for both internal and external department communications
  • Manage three part-time staff that coordinate our three student academic programs (Undergraduate, Psychology PhD, and Clinical Psychology PhD)
  • Liaise with and serve as main point of contact for BYU Graduate Studies
  • Work closely with the faculty Directors of Clinical Training and Psychology Training to update curriculum and graduate catalogues and ensure compliance BYU Graduate Studies requirements
  • Coordinate with graduate students for teaching assignments, faculty teaching mentors, and thesis & dissertation requirements and timelines
  • Work with staff, student organizations, and department committees to conceptualize, plan, and execute all department events
  • Facilitate scheduling logistics for visiting scholars and faculty applicants
