About The Position

The Department Manager of the Housewares department is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned department and providing the highest level of customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and requires availability to work days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule. The listed pay range is $17.00–$19.00, depending on experience.

The position is performed in a retail store environment and involves merchandise receiving and distribution, inventory management, department organization, and supporting the training and direction of department team members. The role includes frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, and frequent bending and twisting. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the receipt and distribution of merchandise at the retail store.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
• Use appropriate receiving procedures to accurately record products received.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Clean and organize the department.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
