About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned Seasonal department and providing the highest level of customer service. The position reports to the Store Manager. It requires the ability to work days, nights, and every other weekend, as well as an irregular work schedule. Extensive knowledge and understanding of Seasonal products is preferred. The pay range is $17.00–$18.00, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Frequent bending and twisting.

Nice To Haves

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Seasonal products.
• High school diploma.
• Customer service training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyers to communicate assigned department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
