About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned Farm & Pet department and providing the highest level of customer service. The role reports to the Store Manager and requires work on days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule. Experience working on a farm or with farm animals is required.

Requirements

Experience working on a farm or with farm animals.
Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and repeatedly.
Ability to stand for long periods and bend and twist frequently.

Nice To Haves

Leadership experience with small teams.
High school diploma.
Customer service training and/or experience.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
Assist customers with purchases.
Work with Retail Buyers to communicate department product needs and other product information.
Assist with training and directing new department team members.
Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
