About The Position

The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned Farm & Pet department and providing the highest level of customer service. The position reports to the Store Manager and requires working days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule. The work takes place in a retail store environment and includes frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, long periods of standing, and frequent bending and twisting. Requirements

• Experience working on a farm or with farm animals.
• Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for long periods and bend and twist frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Leadership experience with small teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the department.
• Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with retail buyers to communicate department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with training and directing new department team members.
• Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
