About The Position

Boscov’s is seeking a Retail Loss Prevention Manager to join its management team. The manager supervises and participates in monitoring store areas to protect company assets and promote safety and security. The role leads loss prevention staff, including Detectives and Dock Guards, and works with store management and associates to build awareness of potential losses. The position also involves audits, investigations, safety programs, emergency response, and coordination with local authorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Prior loss prevention management experience is preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and train loss prevention staff.
• Effective leadership and management skills.
• Ability to learn company computer systems.
• Ability to prepare and interpret company correspondence and reports.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations.
• Prior experience in retail, security/loss prevention, fire, and/or safety procedures.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Availability to work varied days and hours as the work schedule requires, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Enforce company policies and coordinate procedures established by Corporate Loss Prevention; perform audits and reports.
• Monitor and survey selling and non-selling areas for potential dishonest activity that could result in company losses.
• Apprehend shoplifters and dishonest employees.
• Hire, train, and schedule loss prevention staff.
• Develop partnerships with store management and associates to increase awareness of potential loss of company assets.
• Monitor and implement safety programs, awareness initiatives, meetings, accident reporting, and investigations.
• Conduct fire prevention activities, inspections, and alarm activation response.
• Apply knowledge of burglar alarms and potential response procedures.
• Operate CCTV and understand company theft deterrent systems.
• Work with local authorities on court appearances and investigations.
• Participate in management meetings and functions.
• Conduct store opening and closing procedures and surveillances.
• Supervise and participate in monitoring store activity to protect company assets.
