About The Position

The Department Lead oversees efficient and effective operations for an assigned department at Rural King. Responsibilities include inventory management, scanning outs, recovery, price changes, planogram and playbook feature implementation, cleanliness, and compliance with the indoor merchandising guide. The role supports a well-organized, safe, and appealing shopping environment while providing customer service and assistance with front-end transactions or loadouts as needed. The Department Lead uses general office and retail equipment, participates in cross-training and learning initiatives, and provides professional support to customers and associates. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The role requires at least two years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department, flexibility to work varied hours, and the ability to meet the listed physical requirements. The pay range is $17.50–$21.35 per hour; eligible associates may also receive overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

Follow the indoor merchandising guide to maintain department and signing standards and appealing displays.
Monitor inventory levels by conducting stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
Oversee department recovery to maintain a neat, organized, and visually appealing appearance.
Coordinate and execute price changes, updating pricing labels and signage as needed.
Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and follow sanitation and safety protocols.
Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
Use general office equipment, including telephones, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts.
